Gameplay
How do I play?
Normal is free: pick an emoji, tap the live target before time runs out, and avoid the clones left behind. Missing the target, touching an old clone, or running out of time ends the run. Other modes have different rules; see below.
What is Shuffle?
Shuffle is a Premium gameplay mode where the live target changes emoji as you play instead of using the same selected emoji for the whole run. It uses CloneE’s bundled emoji catalog, so no emoji data needs to be downloaded from a CloneE server.
What is Rush?
Rush is a Premium 30-second mode. Tap open space to place as many emojis as you can before time runs out. Tapping an existing emoji wastes the tap, but it does not end the run.
What is Impostor?
Impostor is a Premium mode starting with 60 seconds. Each round shows repeated emojis with one different emoji. Tap the odd one out to score; finding it quickly can earn extra time. A wrong tap ends the run.
What is Bounce?
Bounce is a Premium mode. Catch the moving emoji; every catch leaves a stationary clone at that position. Touching an old clone or tapping empty space ends the run. There is no per-target timer, and the screen clears every 100 catches.
What is Key Hunt?
Key Hunt is a Premium mode. Find the old key (🗝️) moving among gold keys (🔑). Every successful catch turns the old key into another moving decoy and introduces a new target. Tapping a gold key or missing ends the run. There is no countdown.
Do I have to learn every mode myself?
No. A short first-play tutorial introduces Normal/Shuffle, Rush, Impostor, Bounce, and Key Hunt. Tutorial taps are forgiving and do not count toward competitive BEST scores.
What happens when I reach 100?
Nothing interrupts your run. CloneE silently records the difficulty you reached 100 on, clears the accumulated emoji scars so there is fresh space, and lets the same run continue. Your Home screen then shows your 💯 CLUB progress.
Can I earn 💯 CLUB on every difficulty?
Yes. Easy, Normal, and Hard are tracked separately. Reaching 100 on one difficulty does not automatically unlock the others.
Can I change difficulty?
Yes. Open Settings and choose Easy, Normal, or Hard. Difficulty applies to Normal, Shuffle, Bounce and Key Hunt; Rush and Impostor keep their own fixed rules.
What does Reset All Bests do?
Reset All Bests clears local BEST scores for all six modes (including difficulty-specific scores) and your 💯 CLUB progress. CloneE asks for confirmation. It does not remove scores already submitted to Apple Game Center.
How do I mute CloneE?
Open Settings and enable Mute App.

How do I see the leaderboards?
Sign in to Apple Game Center, then tap the Game Center access point on the CloneE Home screen. CloneE has 14 global leaderboards for its modes and difficulty combinations.
Do I need a CloneE account to use Game Center?
No. Game Center uses Apple’s own account and services. CloneE does not ask you to register or create a separate profile. Normal gameplay remains available without Game Center.
Why isn't my score on a leaderboard?
Make sure you're signed in to Game Center and that your new score is a locally earned BEST in that mode and difficulty. Scores need an internet connection to reach Apple, and a pending submission may retry on a later launch.
Does Reset All Bests erase Game Center scores?
No. Reset All Bests clears your local progress, not scores already recorded on Apple’s Game Center leaderboards.
Custom emoji
How do I add an emoji?
Premium users can tap the purple + control in the Home emoji selector to add a supported custom emoji.
Where are my custom emoji stored?
They are stored locally on your device. CloneE does not upload them to a developer-operated server.
Privacy
CloneE has no ads, tracking, third-party analytics, or CloneE account system. Game Center is provided by Apple and is optional. Read the full Privacy Policy →
